Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with an active Alaska RN license and at least two years of OR experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in the Operating Room of an acute hospital
- Hospital is a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma Center
- Day shifts are 3x12 hours with varying start times (6:45–19:15 or 9:00–21:30)
- Weekend shifts are required
- Limited on-call shifts are required, covering for call-offs
- Travelers may float to similar units as needed
- All travelers may be required to float between facilities within the state
- Epic is used for charting and prior Epic experience is required
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available on site
- Provide skilled nursing care to surgical patients in the operating room setting
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team in a fast-paced environment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Requested time off must be submitted with application and is approved on an individual basis
- Minimal to no time off is preferred
Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license required and must be in hand by offer
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS and CNOR certifications are preferred
- No local candidates accepted (permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility)
- Former permanent staff must have at least a 3-month gap before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
