Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level IV Trauma setting requiring an active AK RN license and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Emergency Department within a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital
• Patient population includes emergency and acute care cases
• Typical unit size includes 46 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds
• Variable 12-hour shifts, both day (7:00–19:00) and night (19:00–7:00), with weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope across all facilities within the state is required
• Epic EMR is used and Epic experience is required
• Scrub color is flexible or business casual
• Primary responsibilities include providing emergency care, stabilizing patients, and responding to trauma and critical care situations
• Orientation and support provided in a team environment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Housing and rental vehicle are provided for the duration of the assignment, with specific move-in and move-out windows
• Pets are not allowed in provided housing and units may not accommodate additional family members without approval
• Returning former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months and live outside a 50-mile radius to be considered
• Requested time off must be submitted with application and is subject to facility approval
• Vehicle provided is for local use only and must be cleaned and refueled before return

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
• Must provide two supervisory references covering one year of employment in a comparable specialty within the past three years
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• COVID and Flu vaccination documentation required
• Valid driver's license and proof of personal auto insurance needed for facility vehicle use
