Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Emergency Department position requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of recent ER experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a very large, busy hospital Emergency Department
• Serve adolescent through geriatric patient populations in a non-trauma, high-acuity setting
• Unit averages 165–175 patients per day, with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 59-bed ER
• Stroke and STEMI certified unit using Epic EMR and Pyxis systems, with Epic experience required
• Shifts are 3x12 hours, 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM, with every other weekend required
• Floating is rare
• Expected to work major holidays per facility policy
• Provide care to high acuity ER patients in a fast-paced environment
• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• Request for time off (RTO) is limited to a maximum of 7 days and not permitted during the first week of assignment
• Mandatory holiday coverage is based on the number of holidays falling within the assignment period
• No blocked scheduling is allowed
• Compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to begin on time
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Travel pairs cannot be scheduled for the same shift on the same unit
• Return travelers must meet rehire eligibility requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Must provide two supervisory references (manager or above)
• Must not have been a permanent or PRN employee at any Piedmont facility within the past year
