Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Telemetry unit in Michigan, requiring a current MI license and critical cardiac monitoring skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 54-bed main Cardiac Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Primary patient population includes heart failure, acute MIs (STEMI, NSTEMI), stroke patients needing cardiac monitoring, arrhythmias, and chest pain
- Majority of patients are on cardiac monitors, with remote and unit-based monitoring
- Handles cardiac drips and may admit medical overflow patients as needed
- Day shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30
- Every other weekend is required
- No call requirements
- Must work 2 out of 3 holidays
- Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting
- Support includes a full-time PCA staff starting throughout November
- Patient ratios may temporarily increase to 1:7 during periods with new traveler onboarding
- Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue
- Managers will attempt to accommodate block scheduling but it is not guaranteed
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- First time travelers accepted
