Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg Telemetry night position, requiring a WV or compact RN license and expertise in dysrhythmia management.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 38-bed Cardiovascular/Med-Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population consists primarily of individuals with cardiovascular disease
• Team nursing approach with ratio of 1 RN to 7 patients, supported by 1 LPN and 1 Nursing Assistant
• Night shifts available as 3x12 or 4x12 hours (7pm-7am) weekdays, including every other weekend
• Float to other units may be required based on facility needs
• Blocked schedules considered and discussed during interview
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Cerner charting system, SBAR communication, and Accudose
• Responsible for providing cardiovascular monitoring, identifying and managing dysrhythmias, and advocating for patients in collaboration with the care team
• Opportunities available for continued learning, certification, and career growth
• Royal blue or white scrubs are required for RNs
• First-time travelers are accepted if experience requirements are met
• Facility enforces a 100-mile radius rule, with 75-99 miles considered for special approval
• Former permanent staff must wait 2 years from last employment to be eligible as travelers
• Holiday time-off requests are limited to one of the three major holidays
• Free parking is available for travelers

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license (pending acceptable for consideration)
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Proficiency in telemetry, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must provide two manager or charge nurse references from within the past two years
• Flu vaccination required during flu season unless medically exempt
