Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with at least 3 years of inpatient and ER experience and current BLS and RDCS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short term acute care teaching hospital with Level III Trauma designation
• Perform adult and some pediatric echo procedures in inpatient and ER settings; outpatient, teaching hospital, PICU, neonate, and NICU experience preferred
• Daily department caseload is 75-100 inpatient and outpatient echoes, with varied modalities including 3/D Echo, Bubble Study, Contrast Agents, M-Mode, Pharm Stress Echos, RIT/RVOT, TEE, and Treadmill Stress Echos
• Equipment used includes Siemens and Phillips scanners, portables, Syngo required, PACS preferred
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with weekend shifts as needed per department requirements
• Candidates may be required to float within their scope to meet facility needs, but not to sister facilities
• Uses Excellian/Epic charting system
• Scrub color is grey
• Weekend and block scheduling may be required depending on departmental needs
• Return employees must be gone for at least 3 months from last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
• Time off should ideally not exceed 5 days during the contract
• Local candidates are accepted for this role
• No call requirements
• Parking is available at a flat rate per hour

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of recent echo technologist/cardiac sonographer experience in inpatient and ER settings
• Current BLS and RDCS (Adult) required; RDCS-Peds preferred
• Experience with portable echocardiography and Syngo required
• IV starts, PACS, and biopsy experience preferred
• Specialized echo procedure experience required as detailed in job details
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• License required if applicable
