Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position, requiring a CT or compact RN license and at least 2 years of trauma center experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hybrid cardiac ICU and stepdown unit within a Level I trauma center
• Unit includes 8 cardiac ICU beds and 6 cardiac stepdown beds
• Patient population focuses on cardiothoracic surgery pre and post-op, advanced heart failure, peripheral vascular, and heart failure patients
• Nursing assignments may vary daily between ICU and stepdown
• Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week, from 19:00 to 07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating within scope to stepdown or other units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Assignments may alternate between ICU and stepdown care
• Royal blue scrubs are required
• No call required
• No locals within 75 miles unless specified otherwise
• Former permanent staff must have a minimum two-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved automatically
• Parking available at additional cost
• Must provide one reference for consideration

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or trauma center experience in a large facility
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Must be comfortable with high volume cardiac (HVC) care
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required unless religious or medical exemption obtained
