Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a night shift, with oncology experience preferred and flexible contract lengths available.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Night shifts available, 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend is required
• Patient ratios are 1:5-6
• IV start skills are required
• EMR system in use is Cerner
• Blocked scheduling is available
• Contract length is 13 weeks with the possibility of extension; longer contracts are considered
• Provide nursing care to adult medical and surgical patients
• Attendance policy permits only 2-3 call-offs per contract
• Scrubs are not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• References from two managers or charge nurses within the past year are required for consideration

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license must be in hand
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• ONS chemo/bio certification preferred but not required
• IV start competency required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• No previous travel experience required
