Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP position in a critical access acute care setting, requiring current MN RN license and experience in labor & delivery, med-surg, and pediatrics.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care LDRP unit within a critical access hospital environment
• Unit features 4 labor & delivery beds, 6 postpartum beds, and 1 triage bed
• Common patient cases include labor and delivery, postpartum, hyperbilirubinemia, preterm labor, and triage
• Required to monitor and titrate drips such as Pitocin, cardiac drips, Heparin, and sedation medications
• Telemetry monitoring using Phillips equipment; EFM system is GE
• Charting performed using Epic EMR
• Night shifts are 12 hours, 7p-7:30a, with a three-week rotating D/N schedule
• Every third weekend and every third holiday required
• Call required with a 1 hour response time; first to float when needed
• Floating to Med-Surg/Peds required when OB census is low
• Main responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care to OB and postpartum patients and supporting med-surg/peds patients when floating
• One nurse aid is available on shift from 6a to 6:30p
• Charge nurse available each shift and may assist with patient assignments as needed
• OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia are on-call 24/7; RT is also on-call 24/7 for respiratory support
• No dress code requirements; any scrub color may be worn
• One 12-hour unit-specific orientation shift provided
• All requested time off must be submitted up front; additional RTO will not be approved
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required at time of application; no pending licenses accepted
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in labor & delivery, med-surg, and pediatrics
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
• Experience in critical access hospital settings preferred
• Ability to independently monitor and interpret telemetry strips
• Must provide two references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
• Must submit a copy of driver's license for consideration
• Candidates cannot have been directly employed (FT, PT, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility
