Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Tele position on a night shift requiring strong neuro and cardiac skills and an active AZ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 24-bed Med Surg unit with telemetry capability
• Adult patient population with no pediatric assignments for travelers
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights, acuity based
• Floating required to all Med Surg units and ICU for overflow patients
• 12-hour night shifts
• Uses Allscripts Sunrise EMR system
• Work collaboratively with tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs as part of the support team
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Hospitalist, respiratory therapist, and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Scrub attire may be any color except all black; scrubs are not provided
• No IV team support available

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Tele experience
• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong neuro and cardiac nursing skills required
• Experience with the Allscripts Sunrise EMR preferred
• PALS certification preferred but not required
