Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Neuro RN with an active IL license, BLS, and NIH certifications for a weekends-only dayshift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Neuro unit within an acute care Level I trauma center
• 23-bed unit with a neurological patient population
• Day shift schedule: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting at 6:45 am
• Floating within scope to similar units as needed
• Cerner EMR used; previous experience preferred but not required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Locals accepted without radius restrictions
• Role includes management of PICC lines and initiation of IVs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility is a Magnet hospital and Level I trauma center with 562 staffed beds
• Scrubs may be any solid color
• Parking permit provided at no cost; form completed during orientation
• Block scheduling requests may be accommodated pending manager approval
• Requested time off ideally limited to 5 days for the contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of application
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Experience with PICC line management and IV starts required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
