Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU position in New Jersey requiring 2 years of NICU travel experience and current BLS and NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a hospital setting
• Patient population consists of critically ill neonates requiring advanced neonatal care
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Assignment duration is 13 weeks
• Use of Epic EMR is required
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Provide thorough assessment and direct patient care to critically ill neonates
• Perform systematic and accurate clinical assessments and complete detailed documentation in compliance with standards
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication with patients' families and the care team
• Must comply with strict patient safety and confidentiality guidelines
• May require responding to patient education needs and participating in pre- and post-operative care when relevant
• Dress code follows hospital policy; scrubs required
• Position does not accept first-time travelers

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of Level III NICU travel nursing experience required
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• RNC-NIC certification preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
