Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVCC) night shift position requiring strong critical care background and a valid TX or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVCC) of a busy Level 1 Trauma acute care setting
• Primary patient population includes open heart surgery, transplant, and AAA cases
• Shifts are 12 hours, 7p-7a, with every other weekend required
• Use of Epic EMR is required
• Flexibility required for floating to other units
• CRRT experience preferred and recent ECMO experience valued
• Care for critically ill cardiovascular patients including post-operative open heart and transplant cases
• Be prepared to support a high-acuity, high-volume environment typical of a major academic Level 1 Trauma center
• No self-scheduling; flexibility on scheduling needed
• Parking costs are not covered and range from daily to monthly rates
• First time travelers are not specified as accepted
• Returning employees of CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year are not eligible
• Required to wear department-approved scrubs

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent CVICU or strong critical care experience in a large academic medical center
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must provide two professional references, one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years showing employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver’s license required
