Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Intermediate Care (IMC) position with neuromedical patient care and floating requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Intermediate Care (IMC) unit
• Patient populations include medical, neuro, stroke, and respiratory cases
• Unit staffs 12 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float required to all PCU units, med surg, and ICU for PCU assignments
• Work night shifts, typically 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Patient assignments include a variety of medical and neurological diagnoses including GIB, pneumonia, sepsis, and stroke
• Support includes dedicated charge nurse and patient care technician, subject to availability
• Two bedside orientation shifts provided in addition to hospital orientation
• No set or block scheduling available
• Requests for time off (RTO) limited to 3 days and not approved during the first week of orientation
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignment

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, 1-2 years preferred
• Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Experience in intermediate or progressive care units preferred
• Locals within a 50-mile radius are not eligible
• Former perm staff must be gone for 1 year to apply as a traveler
