Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring EPIC and EKG competency on a night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Primary patient population is Med/Surg with telemetry-capable beds
• Standard patient ratio is 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12s (7:00 pm – 7:30 am)
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating required as needed throughout the hospital
• May be asked to serve as Charge RN if needed
• Utilizes EPIC EMR, prior experience required
• Role requires administration of blood products, peripheral line care, IV starts, heparin, insulin, and PCA management
• Expectation to provide care for patients requiring nasal cannula and those on isolation precautions
• Use of Rapid Response teams is expected as needed
• Holiday coverage will be required as part of the rotation
• Candidates must be prepared in advance for the EKG exam, as study materials will not be provided

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years’ RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Competency with EPIC EMR required
• Must pass a mandatory pass/fail EKG exam during onboarding with two attempts allowed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
