Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Oncology unit, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Tele Oncology unit
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with a focus on solid tumor cancers across all stages
• Patient diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as antineoplastic chemotherapy cases
• Staffing ratios typically 1:4, with occasional 1:5 ratios
• Day (7:00–19:30) and night (19:00–7:30) 12-hour shifts available
• Weekend shifts scheduled based on unit needs with no blocked schedules
• Self-scheduling requested, finalized schedule balanced by management
• Epic used for computerized charting
• Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units
• First week of orientation is Monday to Friday on dayshift, followed by a second week with 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
• The unit focuses on infection prevention and patient fall protocols
• Cares for patients with both oncology and general med/surg needs
• Applicants should enter all time off and scheduling requests prior to finalizing the schedule

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to interpret and monitor telemetry
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• ONS Chemo certification preferred
