Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a compact or MD license and strong triage skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Emergency Department setting
• Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00 to 07:30
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
• Every other weekend shifts required
• Candidates may be required to float within their skillset as needed
• Patients average at least 125 visits per day in the ED
• Duties include providing emergency nursing care, triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy
• Role requires expert prioritization and organizational skills to manage a fast-paced ER environment
• Candidates living within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
• Holiday coverage may be required according to hospital needs
• Professional appearance is expected and specific dress code requirements may apply

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must have worked in an ED with at least 125 daily patient visits within the past 8 months
• Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• Triage experience required
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
