Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and manual/hand therapy certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute care hospital within the OT department
• Day shift schedule of 5x8-hour shifts from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
• Patient population includes individuals with acute and chronic disorders
• Assessment, billing, infection prevention, and fall/risk assessment are integral areas of focus
• Epic EMR system is used for charting and proficiency is required
• Floating between like units and facilities within the state is expected
• Role includes assessments and interventions for both acute and chronic conditions focusing on patient safety and functional improvement
• Travelers must be open to floating as needed between facilities and units in the state
• A 16-hour orientation will be provided at the start of the assignment
• Scrub attire must be any solid color except royal blue
• Free parking is available on site
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility while on assignment
• All time off requests must be submitted for approval at time of application; late requests may be denied
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Current Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
• At least 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience in an acute care setting
• Certifications required in Manual Therapy and Hand Therapy
• Ability to perform infection prevention and fall/risk assessment procedures
• Strong skills in billing and patient functional activity assessment
• References from at least 2 supervisory roles covering 1 year of employment within the past 3 years in a comparable setting
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
