Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an emergency department night shift position requiring a WA or compact RN license and strong ER skillset.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital emergency department with 8 rooms and 3 hallway beds
- Patient population spans from neonate to geriatric with clinic to critical acuity
- Patient ratio is 1:4 on days and nights
- Uses EMR: Epic, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and GE monitors
- 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend rotation
- No floating required
- 4 hours orientation with clinical educator followed by 2-3 unit shifts and preceptor support
- Resource nurse available most days, techs scheduled around the clock, 24/7 RT and hospitalist coverage
- Telemetry monitoring at bedside and nurses’ station
- COVID vaccination required for employment
- Scrub color is navy
- Free parking provided
- Holiday scheduling varies
- No first-time travelers will be considered
- References from a supervisor or higher are required prior to start
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and MHS Tele exam; CPI or MOAB preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- General ER experience in ETOH/drug abuse, cardiac, ortho, and stroke care process required
- Must complete and pass a telemetry competency exam prior to start
- Epic EMR experience preferred
