Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a current IA or compact RN license, ICU expertise, and Epic EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an ICU with 5 ICU beds and 3 stepdown beds
• Cares for critically ill patients including those on vent, BiPAP, Airvo, and post-bariatric or general surgery patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, may be 1:3 during overflow
• Responsible for managing drips such as propofol, levophed, diltiazem, insulin, and heparin
• Float required to stepdown and Med Surg units as needed
• Must be comfortable with a caseload of 3-5 patients
• Uses Epic electronic medical record system, prior experience required
• Travel experience is desirable but not required
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• One supervisory reference from the past two years is required for consideration
• Must be willing to work two out of three winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Limit of one day off request permitted during designated holiday periods

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Med Surg experience strongly encouraged due to floating expectations
• Current certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS, NIHSS, PALS (AHA), and TNCC
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must be COVID vaccinated, exemptions considered upon request
