Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Obstetrics requiring a current AK RN license, BLS, and NRP certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in an Obstetrics unit with approximately 24-30 births per month
- Unit consists of 10 beds
- 12-hour night shifts are required
- Use of fetal monitors, IV pumps, electric patient beds, vital signs monitors, medication carts, defibrillator, crash cart, and Meditech EMR
- May float to other similar units as needed
- Role involves independently planning and implementing routine nursing care while beginning to assume leadership responsibilities
- Expected to provide comprehensive care for labor and delivery patients, maintaining confidentiality and patient privacy
- Must demonstrate flexibility, compassion, and strong clinical judgment in patient care situations
- Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential for optimal patient outcomes
- Standard orientation provided as with all departments
- OB staff must wear hunter green scrubs
Requirements
- Active, in-hand AK RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of recent OB nursing experience
- Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Experience working with Meditech EMR preferred
