Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist with ARRT registration and BLS certification for a Fri-Sun schedule and Cerner charting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital MRI department with potential to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Patient population may include a variety of ages and conditions as encountered in general MRI imaging
• Shift is Friday through Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM, with no call required
• Uses Cerner for electronic medical record documentation
• Responsible for patient care and safety during imaging procedures and ensuring age appropriate protocols are followed
• Assist the radiologist and supervise student technologists as needed
• Educate patients and families regarding imaging procedures and obtain informed consent as appropriate
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and work-related information
• Follow OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC regulations and radiation safety protocols
• May be exposed to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and radiation
• Professional appearance and strong interpersonal communication skills required
• Assignment can last up to one year with a mandatory 30-60 day break prior to return
• First-time travelers are not excluded
• Scrub color or uniform requirements not specified

Requirements

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Active SC or compact state license required if applicable
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required
• Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals
• Prefer candidates with cross-sectional anatomy or MRI experience
• Physical ability to frequently stand, walk, lift, move patients, and handle up to 50 lbs
• No local candidates permitted within a 50-mile radius
