Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 3 years of experience and an active state PT license for a dayshift position in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility
• Day shifts are required
• Typical patient population includes long-term care and rehabilitation residents
• Conducts evaluative and therapeutic procedures, establishes plans of care, and monitors progress
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and participates in team meetings
• Documents all patient care and treatment in the Electronic Medical Record
• Responsibilities include evaluating residents, establishing and progressing therapeutic plans, and recommending assistive devices
• Consults with physicians and team members regarding patient care and discharge planning
• Provides education to residents and caregivers, and supervises assistant-level staff as appropriate
• Mentors new staff and assists with departmental orientation and training
• Adheres to Medicare, Medicaid, Private Pay, and other reimbursement documentation requirements
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment following infection control procedures
• No specific radius rule applies for local candidates

Requirements

• Active state Physical Therapist (PT) license required if applicable
• Minimum of 3 years of recent Physical Therapist experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required; Master’s or Doctorate preferred
• BLS certification is preferred
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds
• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and communication
