Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a day shift assignment in a long-term care setting, requiring an active PT license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Work in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility providing rehabilitation therapy services
Day shift schedule
Position focuses on partnering with residents to maximize independence in activities of daily living
Engagement with interdisciplinary care teams and attendance at team meetings
Duties include evaluation, planning, and implementation of individualized therapy plans for residents
Consults and communicates with referring physicians, primary caregivers, and team members
Responsible for thorough, accessible EMR documentation per department procedures
Provides education on assistive devices and therapy to residents and caregivers
Collaborates and supervises Physical Therapist Assistants as appropriate
Participation in program development and department education initiatives
Mentors new staff and ensures completion of orientation requirements
Must maintain department cleanliness and adhere to infection control procedures
Supports a compassionate, resident-centered approach to care

Requirements

Current and active PT license in the applicable state of work (license required if applicable)
Minimum 3 years of Physical Therapist experience required
Bachelor’s degree required; Master's or Doctorate degree preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred
Ability to perform essential physical functions including lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds
