Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring CVICU and NextStage CVVH machine experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardio Thoracic ICU of a hospital
• Care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgeries, heart/lung transplants, and use of medical devices
• Acuity adaptable unit with mixed surgical and transplant patient population
• Requires experience using the NextStage CVVH machine
• Three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating day (7:00–19:30) and night (19:00–7:30) schedules
• Every other weekend and some holiday shifts are required
• Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations as needed
• No call required
• Responsibilities include specialized care for patients requiring cardiac and thoracic surgery, transplants, and technological support
• Work as a collaborative member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplant team
• Travelers may float to different units or locations within the organization based on needs
• Orientation and additional training will be provided as needed
• Holiday coverage is part of the scheduling requirements
• Scrub or dress code information will be provided by the facility
• Parking onsite requires a permit, but alternative transportation options are available

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license from permanent address state
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• A minimum of two years acute care experience within the last three years
• Prior CVICU experience required
• Experience with NextStage CVVH machine is required
• Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience required; must pass a Telemetry test before start
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assignment location
