Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring BLS and NIHSS, with floating and possible charge responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit within a hospital setting
• Night shifts, either 3x12 or 4x12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be required based on operational needs, with training and resources provided
• Uses Cerner EMR and prior experience with Cerner is required
• Clinicians must be open to covering charge nurse duties as needed
• All travelers must be willing to float to other units or affiliate hospitals
• Candidates must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract
• Time off requests of up to 5 days can be auto-approved
• Local candidates are not accepted for Med/Surg Tele, ICU, PCU, or ER positions
• First time travelers are permitted for this role

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license, or temporary license, must be in hand by start date
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Med/Surg Tele environment
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required, AHA or RQI accepted
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
• Cerner charting experience required
• Returning staff must be separated from prior permanent or PRN position for at least 12 months before contract consideration
