Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring advanced care and stepdown experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital-based Telemetry unit with mixed acuity patients
Care for advanced care level patients with management of advanced care drips
Targeted patient ratios are 1:4 but can be up to 1:5-6
Unit utilizes both team nursing and primary nursing models with collaboration among RNs, LPNs, and PCTs
Night shifts (4x12 hours) from 19:00 to 07:30
13-week contract assignment
Required to float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units within the hospital system, including Main, South, and North campuses
Required to work every other weekend and holidays
No block scheduling available
Participate in direct patient care in a mixed acuity, high-volume Telemetry setting
May be assigned to either a team nursing model or primary nursing depending on unit needs
Nurses must be fitted for an N95 mask or provided with a PAPR before assignment on specific units
Travelers will be the first to float according to hospital discretion and may support a variety of units as clinically appropriate
No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) will be approved
Medical exemptions for vaccinations will not be accepted
Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
No travel partners accepted for this assignment
RNs must be available for all assigned holidays

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license
Minimum 2 years experience in a large hospital with level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
Must have or be willing to obtain NIH Stroke Scale certification
Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to assignment
Travel nursing experience preferred
No local candidates within a 50-mile radius
