Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring night shifts and an active OH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a medical-surgical telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts (18:00–07:00)
• Care for adult Med/Surg patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Assignments may be extended up to 18 months, after which a 6-month break is required
• Onsite fingerprinting and badging required prior to start
• Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, administering medications, and providing comprehensive care to Med/Surg patients
• Candidates are exempt from the facility's nicotine-free requirement at this time
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate exams during orientation is required, with up to two attempts
• Annual and pre-start educational modules must be completed online before start and annually as required
• Assignments at any facility location limited to 18 consecutive months, followed by a minimum 6-month break
• Permanent and per diem staff must wait 1 year from previous end date to return
• PAPRs are not allowed for staff with facial hair unless there is an approved medical or religious exemption

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license, required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 18 months permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele specialty
• Current BLS and other required certifications must be active with nothing pending
• One reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the applying specialty is required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine required within 12 months of start
• No license hits or open background check cases accepted
• BCI/FBI fingerprints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security Number required
