Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active CO or compact RN license and strong obstetrics skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Labor & Delivery setting
• Care for women in labor, through delivery, and postpartum, as well as direct care to newborns
• Full-time, 12-hour day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 13-week contract assignment
• May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing needs
• On-call responsibilities are required
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, monitoring labor, preparing for C-sections and inductions, and proper documentation of care
• Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum periods, including providing newborn care and patient education
• Prepare delivery rooms, administer IV medications, and adhere to infection control protocols
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and lift heavy loads
• Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases

Requirements

• Active Colorado or compact RN license in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Minimum 4 years of obstetric nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR certification required
• Must obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment
• Ability to perform under stressful situations and in highly acute labor & delivery settings
• Proficiency or willingness to learn labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care essentials
