Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist with Virginia licensure and prior home health experience for weekday day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Home health position serving patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery in their homes
• Based out of New River Valley region with potential to float to Wytheville area 2-3 times per week
• Patient population includes cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, neurology, orthopedics, cognitive disorders, and dementia/Alzheimer's
• Typical shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
• Epic experience is preferred for EMR charting
• Mileage for travel to different locations will be reimbursed
• Responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing therapy services to support patient recovery in the home setting
• Must be able to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to varying home environments
• Focus on both short-term recovery and long-term patient goals
• Orientation and support will be provided; first-time travelers are welcome
• No local candidates accepted; radius rules apply
• Must submit all requested time off (RTO) at the time of application
• Healthcare facility retains the right to call off up to 1 shift every two weeks

Requirements

• Current or pending Virginia Physical Therapy license is required; license can be obtained after offer
• BLS certification required
• Doctorate (DPT) or Master's degree in Physical Therapy required
• Minimum of one year prior home health physical therapy experience required
• Strong assessment skills including adaptation with assistive devices, identification of environmental barriers, and vital sign monitoring
• Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary patient care
• Proficiency in documentation including assessments, goals, plan of care, and billing for various payer sources
• Ability to float to Wytheville region as needed
• License required if applicable
