Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position in Alaska requiring an active AK RN license and prior LTC experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a long term care facility with a 21-bed capacity
• Assignment lengths available for either 13 or 26 weeks
• Variable 12-hour shifts, with schedules assigned as either days or nights
• Patient ratio is 1 nurse to 20 residents
• Must be willing to float within scope to other facilities within the state as needed
• Uses Epic for electronic charting
• Responsibilities include providing nursing care to long-term care residents with varying needs
• All travelers are provided with a one-bedroom housing unit and a shared-use rental vehicle for the duration of the assignment
• Pets are not allowed in provided housing and additional family members must be approved by the facility
• Must provide valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance with rental coverage to operate provided vehicle
• Vehicle use is restricted to a 30-mile radius from the facility and must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
• No block scheduling is available and minimal to no RTO is permitted; all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application
• Holiday coverage is required
• Any color scrubs may be worn

Requirements

• Active Alaska RN license or proof of application submitted (pending accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of LTC nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Former perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
