Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with pediatric and Epic experience for evening shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced Emergency Department with a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Average daily census of 70 with 160 visits per day, 36 rooms, and 50 beds
• Shift is 12 hours, 3:00 pm to 3:30 am, totaling 36 hours per week
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• No on-call responsibility
• Float as part of a team nursing approach, with potential to assist in ICU or ED for helping hands; patient sitting may be required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Special procedures include conscious sedation, trauma alert/activation, stroke alert, cath lab activation, and SANE consultation
• Equipment includes Point of Care US/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology
• Provide emergency care for a wide range of diagnoses across all age groups, including trauma and psychiatric emergencies
• Participate in team nursing and may assist with floating as needed
• A comprehensive 36-hour orientation is provided, including 1 week of class and clinical training
• Scrubs of any color are permitted

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• AHA or Red Cross certifications required: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI
• Demonstrated skills in triage, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and general ER care for all ages
• Epic charting system experience required
• References required for consideration; may be able to start with the second reference pending
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Travelers who have been former employees at any SolutionHealth facility are not eligible
• Travelers who reside within 50 miles are accepted at a local rate
