Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring a KY or compact license, night shifts, and advanced cardiac care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes individuals requiring cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
• Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:3-4
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Expected to manage O2 protocols, non-invasive airways, central and peripheral lines, and blood product administration
• Computerized documentation required
• Will be responsible for administration of drips and implementation of evidence-based patient care interventions
• Must follow all hospital isolation and infection prevention policies
• Participate in activation and support of the rapid response team as required
• Two professional references may be requested during the hiring process

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to assignment
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry RN experience
• Proven ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response team activation
• Ability to use isolation precautions and PPE
• Peripheral and central line care experience needed
