Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Night position, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active IN or compact license.
Responsibilities
- Work on a Medical Surgical unit in an acute hospital setting
- Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
- Every other weekend work required
- Occasional floating to other Level 3 departments
- Ratios are typically 1:5 to 1:6
- Required to complete two extra level-loading shifts during each 6-week scheduling period, with flexible scheduling
- Use of Cerner EMR is required
- One holiday shift per contract required
- Travelers may call off up to two shifts per assignment without penalty
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Team offers flexibility for scheduling mandatory level-loading shifts
- Holiday coverage includes working one holiday per contract
Requirements
- Active Indiana or compact RN license, active by start date
- Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience if traveler has prior travel experience; 18 months required for those without travel experience
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS, CPI, ONC, and PALS certifications are preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Pending RN license accepted if active by assignment start
