Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Ortho/Spine night shift position requiring a MD or compact license and strong ortho/spine skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital 1W Orthopedics unit with a focus on Med/Surg Tele and Ortho/Spine cases
• Night shifts are scheduled as 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend work is required
• Patient population includes joint replacements, fracture repairs, spinal surgeries (ACDF, fusion, decompression), and general med/surg diagnoses
• Use of special equipment such as IV pumps, PCAs, Bucks Traction, overbed trapeze, SCDs, foot pumps, incentive spirometry, Hoyer lift, Sara Stedy, and walker
• Provide nursing care for patients with orthopedic, spine, and general medical/surgical needs
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Expected to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required as scheduled

Requirements

• Active RN license for the state of Maryland or compact RN license required
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• Strong experience with ortho/spine units and related clinical skills
• First-time travelers considered if ortho/spine experience is strong
