Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position caring for a diverse medical patient population, requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital setting within Medical Specialties units (1 East and 2/3 East)
Patient population is predominantly medical, including acute and chronic illness such as sepsis, kidney disease, diabetes, GI issues, respiratory illnesses, substance misuse, and Cystic Fibrosis
Medical Specialties serve as a nationally recognized center for adult Cystic Fibrosis admissions
Unit includes 36 beds on 1 East and 25 beds on 2/3 East
Assignments require day/night rotation or straight day shifts; no straight night shifts available
No local candidates are permitted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
Role requires care of complex cases, including patients undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis
Team members work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
Must be available to work a rotating schedule or straight days as assigned
No straight night shift assignments are offered for this position

Requirements

Active NH or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
Experience caring for patients with chest tubes, complex wounds, central lines (including blood draws and maintenance), tracheostomies/laryngectomies, and telemetry monitoring
Proficiency managing drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone
Skilled in managing lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
