Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a MD or compact RN license and strong cardiac monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shifts, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Every other weekend and every other holiday are required
• Requires floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Care involves medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac monitoring, genitourinary/renal, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Cerner EMR experience required
• All employees are required to have the Flu vaccine
• Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac rhythms and administering IV therapies
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
• Teamwork expected with regular floating and holiday shift coverage

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• ACLS certification preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
