Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a day shift position serving adult and geriatric patients, requiring an AL or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 to 19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
• Floating required within facility
• May act as Charge RN as needed
• Must work at least one of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day
• 30-minute lunch breaks are required and must be taken
• Local candidates considered if residing within a 60-mile radius
• Adults and geriatric patient care is the primary responsibility

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Fit Test required prior to starting
• Experience with IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac required
• Level II Trauma experience and prior travel experience preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
