Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring recent Level I trauma and travel experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the Emergency Department of a large, short-term acute Level I Trauma Center
  • Typical shift is 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.; shifts may vary based on schedule needs
  • 48-hour workweeks may be required
  • Weekend and on-call shifts are required as needed
  • Floating may occur between similar units and campuses within 20 miles, though this is rare
  • Cerner EMR experience is preferred
  • Must be willing to work assigned holidays; if two holidays fall during assignment, at least one must be worked, and if three, at least two must be worked
  • Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be included at time of application; no RTO approvals after submission
  • Professional attire or scrubs as required by hospital policy

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required at time of application; pending license not accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience is required
  • Prior travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers considered only if over 3 years recent ED experience
  • Level I Trauma experience is required
  • Driver’s license required
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
  • No local candidates within 100 miles of the facility
