Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a NH or compact RN license and strong acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital float pool covering Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Float between locations including Laconia, Franklin, and possibly Concord Main based on need
• Care for a diverse adult patient population requiring telemetry and Med/Surg care
• Perform and monitor Cardizem and insulin drips (for hyperglycemia), and Phenobarbital management on Telemetry
• Night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with every other weekend required
• 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Cerner EMR is used; experience is preferred but not required
• Float pool RNs provide Med/Surg and Telemetry care across multiple hospital sites as assigned
• Cardiac monitoring and titration of telemetry drips are key responsibilities
• Weekly orientation is provided at the start of the assignment
• Perm staff may return as travelers after a 12 month break in service
• Requests for time off must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a local rate
• Three references (two from leadership) required once committed to assignment

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required at time of consideration; temporary licenses are not accepted
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Must pass a Dysrhythmia Exam with at least 80% during onboarding
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in specialty required
• Recent travel experience preferred but first-time travelers with strong acute experience are considered
• Two recent Charge or Manager RN references required for consideration
• NURSYS license verification required with all active RN licenses listed
