Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in California requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of PACU or ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital PACU and ACU setting
• Responsibilities include pre-op assessment, IV and foley insertion, glucose checks, blood draws, and executing physicians’ orders
• Involves recovering and discharging post-surgical patients and pre-op patient preparation
• Variable daytime shifts, Monday through Friday, with options for 6:00–16:30 or 11:30–22:00 shifts
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Travelers may float to other locations within the health system if census is low on home unit
• Epic EMR experience is preferred
• Responsible for thorough perioperative care including patient assessments and discharge planning
• Must have left previous employment at this system at least one year ago to return as a traveler
• Modules for orientation are completed via e-learning and vary by specialty
• Only one holiday off is approved during the contract
• All certifications must be current and in hand at the time of consideration
• Locals are accepted at a different rate

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU or ICU experience
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Must be able to provide two supervisor references from the past two years
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
• Must be available for lab work within 3–5 days of signing
