Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with ARRT certification, BLS, and at least 6 months of hospital experience including Diagnostic Radiology, Fluoroscopy, and OR/ER proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work setting includes hospital-based diagnostic radiology with use of 6 C-arms, 1 O-arm, 3 minis, 2 fluoro rooms, 2 general rooms, 1 chest room, and 4 portables
• Schedule is Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Call rotation is one week every sixth week, covering Monday to Thursday 7:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Friday 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM, and Saturday-Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Patient population includes ER and OR cases as well as general diagnostic studies
• Obtain and document patients' clinical histories and necessary labs for licensed practitioners
• Position and immobilize patients while ensuring comfort and accurate imaging
• Support radiation safety and apply protective principles for patients, self, and others
• Perform radiographic procedures, including operating a variety of imaging equipment
• Assist with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, using appropriate surgical technique
• Complete pre- and post-procedure documentation and verify informed consent
• Must pass EKG testing on first day with up to two attempts; study guides are provided
• Work within an interdisciplinary team and provide patient-centered care
• Attention to detail and critical thinking skills are essential

Requirements

• Current ARRT certification is required
• BLS from the American Heart Association is required prior to direct patient care
• Virginia Radiology license required; license required if applicable
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a hospital setting with Diagnostic Radiology, Fluoroscopy, OR, and ER cases
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Experience in radiation safety and patient care preferred
• Associates degree from an ARRT-accredited institute preferred
