Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a travel Emergency Department position in a pediatric emergency setting requiring a NJ or compact RN license and pediatric ER certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Pediatric Emergency Department of a hospital
• Care provided for pediatric to geriatric patient populations
• Evening (PM) shifts with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call requirements
• Float may be required to a nearby sister hospital
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, direct patient care, and use of emergency procedures and equipment
• Expected to maintain complete and accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Participates in team-based care with emphasis on patient-centered service
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and universal protocols
• May be required to work 1 holiday if onboarding before Christmas
• Dress code and specific unit protocols will be provided upon assignment
• No local candidates accepted; applicants must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Holiday, weekend, and floating coverage expectations apply

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department required
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS required
• PALS certification required for Pediatric Emergency Department
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
