Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with an active OK or compact license and advanced AHA certifications for an adult postoperative care unit.

Responsibilities

• Position in the Adult Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a hospital setting
• Serves a diverse adult patient population recovering from surgical procedures
• Day shift schedule with four 10-hour shifts per week
• On-call responsibilities assigned in rotation, with on-call hours from 7pm-7am on weekdays and 7am-7am on weekends
• Uses hospital-standard equipment and maintains documentation of patient responses and interventions
• Primary responsibilities include providing nursing care for adult patients emerging from anesthesia with varying levels of complexity
• RN will monitor physiological data, administer medications, and assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures
• Interacts with patients and families to share care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegates and coordinates tasks with support staff to ensure comprehensive care
• A 50-mile radius rule applies and local candidates within this distance are not eligible
• All hospital-required testing and background screening must be completed before start
• Scrub or uniform requirements will follow hospital guidelines

Requirements

• Active OK or compact state RN license required
• Minimum of one year RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all must be through AHA)
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care
• Strong communication skills and the ability to respond to diverse patient needs
