Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Sonographer for a Level 3 trauma acute care setting, requiring ARDMS or RVS certification and strong skills in general, OB, and vascular ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital Radiology department with a dedicated ultrasound unit
• Perform all ultrasound modalities including vascular and OB in all trimesters, with procedures
• Echo experience is desirable but not required
• Patient caseload averages 10-15 scans per day depending on shift length
• Department utilizes 4 Toshiba ultrasound units, with 2 new Phillips units pending delivery
• Utilizes EPIC RIS for charting and Fuji PACS for imaging archive and communication
• 4 ultrasound rooms are available in the department
• No floating required to other areas
• Four 10-hour day shifts per week with call after 9PM and on weekends
• Weekend and holiday requirements are on-call only
• Must be able to independently perform a full spectrum of ultrasound exams including general, OB, and vascular studies
• No IV starts required
• Radiologist coverage is in-house three days a week
• Department dress code has no specific scrub color requirements
• 12 hours of initial orientation will be provided; presence in-state required for orientation week
• A 60-mile radius rule applies for eligibility
• Candidates may not have worked directly for any facility within the CommonSpirit Health system in the past year

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Sonographer in an acute care setting
• Current ARDMS (RDMS, RDCS, or RVT) or RVS through CCI certification required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Experience performing general, OB, and vascular ultrasound required
• Experience with EpicCare EMR and Fuji PACS preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years with dates of employment and rehire eligibility
