Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level I trauma setting, requiring NM or compact RN license and TNCC certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Level I Trauma Emergency Department within an acute care hospital
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5
- ED sees both adult and pediatric patients and a high volume of admit holds
- Shift options include 36 or 48 hour weeks with night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Travelers are scheduled for weekends as needed, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
- Floating to Adult Progressive Care Units is expected and floating to Pediatric ED or ED Holding/Trauma may occur
- Uses Cerner for electronic charting
- No on-call requirements
- Duties include medication administration, IV medication, and thorough clinical documentation
- Increased number of admit holds in the department
- First-time travelers will be considered if they have strong Level 1 experience
- Black scrubs are required and not provided
- Parking is available at no cost
- Requests for more than 7 days off require approval
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license; license may be pending at time of consideration
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (required at submission), NIHSS (can be pending prior to start)
- Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department experience required; candidates with 1.5 years may be reviewed
- Level I Trauma experience strongly preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination required unless exemption is approved
- No local candidates within a 75-mile radius will be accepted
