Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a New Mexico or compact license and TNCC certification for a Level I trauma setting.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital within the Emergency Department
- Unit includes ED, potential floating to Peds ED (optional), Adult PCUs, ED Holding, and Trauma depending on staffing needs
- Night shifts with options for 36 or 48 hours per week (4x12 hour shifts, 19:00 - 07:30)
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5 in the ED
- A high percentage of admissions and increased ED holding
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Weekend shifts are required as needed, with weekend nights including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- No on-call requirements
- First-time travelers may be considered if they have 2+ years of Level I trauma experience
- Duties include medication administration, IV therapy, and thorough clinical documentation and communication
- Black scrubs required and not provided
- Free parking available for staff
- Requests for more than 7 days of time off require approval
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration)
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required; will review candidates with at least 1.5 years of experience
- Level I trauma experience preferred
- Current ACLS, BLS, TNCC (must be obtained before consideration), PALS required
- NIHSS certification can be obtained prior to compliance due date
- COVID vaccination required unless granted exemption (religious/medical, requires documentation)
- Applicants must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital
