Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NM or compact RN license, with a preference for Level I trauma and travel experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital
- Adult and pediatric patient populations, including high admit and ED holding rates
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5
- Cerner EMR system is used
- Shifts are 36 or 48 hours per week, days or nights, with required weekend coverage as needed
- Applicants must not live within 75 miles of the facility
- Floating to Adult PCUs is expected; optional floating to Peds ED and possible floating to ED Holding and Trauma
- Black scrubs required and not provided
- Responsibilities include medication administration, including IV meds, and thorough documentation and communication of clinical findings
- High volume of admit holds and complex cases typical
- No on-call responsibilities are required
- Free parking available on site
- Requests for time off greater than 7 days require approval
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license; license may be pending at the time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (will review candidates with at least 1.5 years)
- Level I Trauma experience strongly preferred
- Travel experience preferred but first-time travelers with Level I Trauma experience considered
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC at time of consideration)
- NIHSS certification can be pending until compliance due date before start
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation
