Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position in Illinois, requiring an IL RN license and 3 years of L&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit
• Position focuses on both neonate and adult patient populations
• Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 6:00pm to 6:30am
• Every 3rd weekend coverage required
• Uses Pyxis medication system and Meditech documentation system
• Role includes recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Scrubs are provided for this role
• Responsibility for using infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
• First-time travelers may be accepted depending on experience

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum of 3 years recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
• Proficiency in NST, OCT, sterile vaginal exams, L&D triage, EFM, and spiral electrode placement
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, administration of blood products, drawing venous blood, and maintaining peripheral IVs
• Ability to circulate for and recover C-sections, and administer epidural anesthesia
