Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU night shift position requiring current Level III NICU experience and an active NJ or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Level IV NICU with a 21-bed NICU and a 16-bed Special Care Nursery
- Patient ratios are 1:2 in the NICU and 1:3-4 in the Special Care Nursery
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Float assignments may include Newborn Nursery, Special Care Nursery, Pediatrics, and PICU as appropriate
- Required to work every other weekend and be available for one or more winter holidays
- Patient care includes use of EPIC EMR, with experience required
- Will not attend high-risk deliveries
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Returning employees must have at least a one-year gap since leaving the health system to be eligible
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- Holiday coverage is required for at least one winter holiday
- No block scheduling is offered for this position
Requirements
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Level III NICU experience required
- Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required; PALS preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC charting, CPAP, HFNC, and ETT required
- Familiarity with oscillators, Jet ventilators, glucose monitoring, insulin administration, breastfeeding support, feeding tube management, sepsis work-ups, umbilical lines, A-lines, central lines, IV vasopressor, and Criticool preferred
